About Me
Hi. I’m Fenella, a costume designer, pattern maker, and stretch fabric enthusiast.
I’ve been sewing since I was about 14, completely obsessed with two things: sewing and dance. So, it made perfect sense to merge the two when I went on to study Costume with Performance Design at university. But even there, I hit a wall, no one really knew how to teach stretch fabrics. They avoided them altogether, and I quickly realised I’d have to figure it out on my own.
So, I did.
Through years of trial and error, hands-on work, and lots of Lycra, I developed my skills working with stretch fabrics. First in costume studios, and later through my own dance costume business, which I’ve been running for over eight years. While I now focus mainly on pattern making and education, I still occasionally take on custom commissions when inspiration strikes.
Now I’m here to help you build the same confidence with stretch fabrics and with your sewing skills.

About the Brand
This isn’t another set of AI-generated patterns that haven’t been tested on real bodies (yes, that’s a thing). Every pattern I create is based on real experience, refined through years of hands-on work, and designed to support you with styles that actually move, with you and for you.
My patterns are:
- Easy to follow, with clear step-by-step instructions
- Designed with movement in mind (hello, dance floor!)
- Full of thoughtful details that make sewing stretch way less scary
And most importantly? They’re fun.
Whether you’ve got years of experience or you’re still building confidence, my goal is to help you fall in love with stretch fabrics and actually enjoy the process of sewing with them.
